Why Phantom Blade Zero was delayed

In the letter, S-GAME says the extra 50 days are being used to upgrade character models and rework many environments. The studio has also worked to keep the game's visual impact without relying on ray tracing, though ray tracing will further enhance the visuals. The letter says S-GAME would rather ship these improvements on day one than add them in post-launch updates.

Phantom Blade Zero timeline

According to the same letter, the game was first revealed in 2023, had its first offline hands-on demo in 2024, and showed the Seven-Star Sword Formation, Lion Dance and Drunken Sword in 2025. For launch-day details, see our Phantom Blade Zero release report.
