Platforms and Editions
Modern Warfare 4 launches as a standalone purchase. Activision's Game Pass Intel post (October 15, 2026) states it is not on Game Pass at launch and is planned for Holiday 2027.
Vault Edition buyers get the digital edition plus operator packs, Signature weapons, one season of BlackCell benefits when Season 1 arrives, and a DMZ deployment bonus, per the launch blog. Players who bought the Digital Standard Edition can upgrade to Vault on the same platform.
Other Launch Notes
- The C.O.D.E. Valor Pack, made with Medal of Honor recipient Kyle Carpenter, is available at launch in Multiplayer and DMZ. Activision says 100% of its net proceeds go to the Call of Duty Endowment.
- Discord account linking is available again at launch; beta-era links need to be re-authorized for the new features.
What Comes Next
Season 1 follows shortly after launch and will connect Modern Warfare 4 content into Call of Duty: Warzone, according to Activision's earlier May announcement and the launch-day posts. Exact Season 1 start dates beyond that framing were not restated in the October 23 live post.
