Pokémon GO’s October 2026 Community Day featured Zorua on Saturday, October 10, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. local time. With the event now past, the key details are its evolution window, the advertised catch bonuses and the ways Special Background encounters were offered. This recap records the official schedule rather than promising that those bonuses remain active on October 11.
The Pokémon Company’s event report confirmed increased wild appearances for Zorua. It also advertised the possibility of encountering a Shiny Zorua, a Special Background Zorua, or both. Those were chances, rather than guaranteed results from ordinary wild encounters.
The featured move had a separate deadline
Evolving Zorua during the event or within four hours afterward produced a Zoroark with the Fast Attack Sucker Punch. With the main event ending at 5 p.m., the announced evolution allowance ran to 9 p.m. local time on October 10.
That distinction matters when reading a recap: a three-hour catching event and a longer evolution window are different deadlines. The announcement does not establish a continuing October 11 evolution bonus. It also does not say that Sucker Punch automatically makes every Zoroark a preferred battle choice.
Players reviewing yesterday’s catches can check the moves on any Zoroark they evolved. Deciding which Pokémon to keep or invest in is a separate question from whether an evolution happened within the advertised window.
Catch bonuses and extended lure encounters
The Pokémon Company listed triple catch XP, double catch Candy and twice the chance of receiving catch Candy XL for Trainers level 31 and above. Regular Incense activated during the event lasted three hours; Daily Adventure Incense was excluded from that bonus.
The Pokémon GO team’s full announcement also described an extended period at PokéStops with regular Lure Modules. From 2 p.m. to 9 p.m., those stops had a very high chance of attracting Zorua, with boosted Shiny chances and possible Special Backgrounds still applying. Lure Modules lasted one hour.
The longer period did not extend every catch bonus. The same announcement placed discounted trades and one additional Special Trade in the 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. window. That allowed a maximum of two Special Trades for the day, with trades costing half the usual Stardust.
Research offered additional encounters
Community Day Field Research included rewards such as Stardust, Ultra Balls and Zorua encounters, with some tasks offering a chance at a Special Background. The optional Special Research was advertised at US$1.99 or the local equivalent. Listed rewards included three Special Background Zorua encounters, a Premium Battle Pass and a Rare Candy XL.
Those research details describe the event’s offer; this recap does not establish that tickets can still be bought today. The distinction between a guaranteed listed research reward and a possible wild encounter is useful when comparing how players obtained their catches.
For anyone arriving through a trending search after the event, the dates are the main takeaway. October’s Zorua Community Day was an October 10 event with several deadlines extending to that evening. Check a new official announcement before assuming those opportunities will return.
